Airplane

The Airport of Villanubla has connections with: London ( Stansted ), Brussels ( Charleroi ), Paris ( Orly ), Barcelona, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca , Málaga and Sevilla.

Between the Airport of Villanubla and the city of Valladolid there are about 12 kilometres . There are connections with by bus up to the bus station of Valladolid and in cab.

Another option is to arrive to the International Airport of Madrid-Barajas and to take afterwards a train or bus to arrive to Valladolid . To arrive from the Airport of Barajas to the Train Station of Chamartín or the South Bus Station, you can go by bus, subway or cab.

Train

Since the end of 2007 the high-speed line between the Railway Station and the Station of Madrid- Chamartín is working. There are several trains that run from one city to another in less than one hour.

We recommend you to consult the web site of RENFE to get information you about the schedules and prices. You can also access to prices quite a lot reduced if you buy your ticket with sufficient anticipation.

Bus

The road connection between the South Bus Station of Madrid and the Bus Station of Valladolid is very frequent. Normally, there is a bus every hour. The company that carries out this service is ALSA . You can consult schedules and prices in the Internet.

Airport pick up service

If you need airport pick up, you may point it at the inscription form and inform us about your flight number and all the arrival data. A member of our staff will be there to pick you up and take you to your host family. This person will take a paper with your name.

Once we will send you the confirmation of your course we will also give you a emergency phone number just in case your plane is delayed or any other problem.

If you have booked an accommodation with us we will send you all the information you will need and phone number contacts about two weeks before of your arrival.

If you have just booked one of our courses, then you will have to arrive at E.L.E. Instituto the first day of your course at five minutes of the time your course will start to take the level test.

How early can I register?

You may register just before the course starts, but it would be better to register sooner so that you may guarantee accommodation and vacancies in your course and level.

Once you register you will be required a deposit of 120€ which will be discounted of the total amount of the course. This deposit could be paid by credit card, or bank transfer.

Bookings will be confirmed within 24-48 hours of receipt.

What is the process of enrolment?

Firstable, you should send us your inscription form from our web site ( www.eleinstituto.com) or you may also request an inscription by email to info@eleinstituto.com .

Once we have received the inscription form as well as the deposit of 120€ (remember this amount will be discounted of the amount of the course). Then, we will send you a confirmation within 24-48 hours of receipt, if you haven't received in this time, please contact again with us to check if we have received your inscription form.

Along with the confirmation we will send you the total amount invoice which should be paid before the first day of the course.

How can I pay?

Payment of the enrolment fees should be made in euros, by cheque addressed to E.L.E. Instituto, cash deposit, bank transfer or credit card, before the start of the course. Bank charges arising from transactions will be met by the student. Bank details for payment:

Should I need a VISA?

Normally most of the students can stay in Spain during 90 days without visa of student. You can consult whether you need to request a visa of student in the Embassy or Consulate of Spain in your country.

A visa of student for a course in Spain is needed when the course lasts more than 90 days. If you are planning to study in Spain for more than 12 weeks, you will have to request a visa of student before going out from your country. In this case, you must take into account that the report/dossier has to be examined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid , therefore the formality takes at least a month since the moment in which you hand in all the documentation.

To request the visa of student, it is important to know the special requirements according to the country of origin. It follows these steps:

• Get in touch with the Embassy or Consulate of Spain to request information about the visa. It is important to get in touch at least 60 days before the planned date of beginning of the course.
• Request the documents and necessary forms.
• Register in the course with E.L.E. Instituto and pay registration fees.
• Inform E.L . E . Instituto that you are going to request the visa of student and that you need a Certificate of Registration.
• Inform E.L.E. Instituto of any special requirement that has to be taken into account when making the application for the visa.

When you have the documents, check that they are correct and fill the necessary forms for the application .

When we receive your registration correctly completed, the fee of registration and course, and have assigned an accommodation to you for your stay, we will send you the Certificate of Registration, which is the document that requires the Spanish Embassy for the application for the visa.

This document certifies that you are registered in a course and contains the name of the student, the type of course and the dates of the course. It is signed by the director of E.L.E. Instituto and has the stamp of the centre.

The rules and regulations for obtaining of the visa of student can change.

Although E.L.E. Instituto will help you in the process of demanding a visa of student, we can just work according to norms and requirements set by the Spanish Embassies of every country. The people of every Embassy take the decisions about granting or denying a student a visa. E.L.E. Instituto can not take part in their decisions.

In the case that a visa of student is denied after E . L . E . Instituto has received the total amount of the program, the School will pay back the amount of the course and of the accommodation if they have already been paid.

The registration fee is not refundable. Nevertheless if you decide to join us before a year from the moment you paid the registration fees, you won't have to pay the fees again.

Should I need a Medical Insurance?

All students enrolled on the course must have medical insurance. Students from EU countries can obtain an E111 form in their respective countries to receive medical assistance in Spain . Students may also take out medical insurance through the E.L.E. Instituto . This insurance covers the whole of the country and includes doctors' appointments and emergency hospital treatment. The cost of this insurance can be found on the official leaflet of dates and fees.

The first day of course we will give you a card of E.L.E. Instituto with which you will be able to obtain discounts in:

• Bookstores
• Photo stores
• Swimming Pools
• Gyms
• Restaurants
• Bars
• Hair dressers
• Etc.

You will only obtain this discount in the stores that have an agreement with E.L.E. Instituto when showing the card. In the program that we will give you in the beginning of the course you will be able to see the stores that have this agreement with us.

What is the first day of school like?

The first day of school all students, except absolute beginners, will take an oral and written test in order to place you at the most suitable class.

You will also receive information about the city, school, accommodation, activities, and we will answer to all your questions.

What is the class schedule at E.L.E Instituto?

Classes are held from Monday to Friday and there are two shifts: morning and afternoon according to your course. Most of the students will take lessons in the morning.

Do students have access to the Internet?

Yes, all students will have free access to the Internet at E.L.E. Instituto

Can I get academic credits?

You should check with your University department about transfer credits and give them the information about E.L.E. Instituto general courses brochure. Universities usually require additional information in order to decide if they will grant credits and how many credits to grant. If you need it we can provide your university with a detailed program description, syllabus, teachers cv's, etc.

Will I be able to meet Spanish students?

Yes, E.L.E. Instituto will organise meetings with Spanish students; so that you could make some language and cultural exchanges as well as some Spanish students could take part of the activities and excursions. That will enable you to meet more Spaniards and know more about our culture and way of life; as well as improving your knowledge of Spanish.

Can I change my course or accommodation after arrival?

Once you have started your course you may always change your course after talking to the head teacher and exposing your reasons.

If you have any problem with your accommodation, we will consider the situation and change you without any additional cost for you.

Are excursion and cultural activities offered?

E.L.E. Instituto prepares every month different activities and excursions around the city and to other towns in Spain . You can see this activities at the calendar shown at the web site www.eleinstituto.com

Most of this activities will be completely free for E.L.E. Instituto students.

The weather of Valladolid is mediterranean continental.

The annual rainfall is of 435 mm and the average relative humidity throughout the year is of 65%. There are 2.534 hours of sun and 71 rainydays per year.

The temperatures have quite important differences between the day and the night, with an annual average of 12,3°C . The winters are cold, although the great snowstorms are infrequent due to the geographical situation of the city.

The summers are, normally, hot and dry, with maxims about 30°C , but minimum fresh, surpassing 13°C slightly.
